Four officers of Ghana Airways interdicted

The Head of Engineering at Ghana Airways, Edward Ofori Kwakye together with three others have been interdicted to enable investigations to be conducted into circumstances under which Ghana Airways flew to the United States of America after a note had been sent to the airline banning it from entering that country.

Also interdicted are the Senior Pilot of the Airline?s DC 10 aircraft, Captain Edward Harley; the Dispatch Manager, Francis Odame; and the officer in charge of operating license who is based in the United States.

The interdiction of the four persons follows the board?s decision to set up a committee to investigate the matter and take appropriate measures to forestall any further embarrassment to the national airline.

The decision was taken at an emergency Board meeting held on Wednesday.

The Public Relations Officer of the Transport Ministry disclosed these to JoyNews.
