Three persons have died as a result of a robbery incident at Subinso Number 2 in the Wenchi Municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region.
The robbers numbering five had gone to rob a bank and a mobile money vendor in Subinso Number 2 leading to the death of the three. One of the dead was among the robbers who was mistakenly shot by his colleague.
The Wenchi Municipal Police Commander ACP Sebastian Wemegah in an interview with Ghanaweb said they had a distress call on Friday and rushed to the scene.
” We rushed to Subinso but when we got there the robbers had fled, one of the robbers was mistakenly shot by his colleagues. Four people were hit by stray bullet and were admitted at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital but in the evening we had information that two of them have died one male and one female,” ACP Wemegah disclosed.
ACP Wemagah admonished that when such incidents happen they should not rush but remain calm, he said the rushing led to the four persons being hit by stray bullet.
He noted that investigation into the incident has begun.
The bodies of the three persons are currently at the Wenchi Methodist Hospital Morgue.
