B/A Minister inaugurates schools at Techiman

Techiman, July 29, GNA- Nana Kwadwo Seinti, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Minister, has inaugurated two school projects constructed with funds from the GETFUND and District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) at Asuatwe and Gyarko in the Techiman Municipality.

The projects include a six-classroom block, office and store, a library and a six-seat water closet at the Islamic Primary School at Asuatwe at a cost of 377.924 million cedis.

He also inaugurated a six-classroom block, office and store for Alkhariya Prmary School at Gyarko at a cost of 350.1 million cedis. Nana Seinti spoke against armed robbery in the region and urged the people to expose suspicious characters to the security agencies.

The Regional Minister called for peaceful during the general elections and appealed to the people to welcome any of the political parties that would campaign in the area, adding, ” Make critical assessment of their campaigns messages and vote for a better choice”.

Mr Prince Oduro-Mensah, Member of Parliament for Techiman South, urged chiefs, unit committees and assembly members in the area to make good use of the government’s decentralization policy by coming together and co-operate towards the development of their areas.

Mr. Oduro-Mensah said he was not happy about how some of the unit committees were approaching issues concerning development projects in the area.

He said two billion cedis would soon be released for extension of water in some parts of Techiman in addition to about 101 boreholes to be provided in the rural communities. 29 July 04
