NDC has not removed Chief Whip – Huudu Yahaya

Accra (Greater Accra) 20 Nov. ’98

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied that it had taken a decision to remove the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament Mr Doe Adjaho. ”The party has full confidence in the Chief Whip since his devotion to duty and commitment to the party has never been in doubt,” a statement signed by the NDC General Secretary Mr Huudu Yahaya said. The statement is in reaction to a publication in the Guide newspaper. The statement said in as much as appointment of party functionaries is guided by regional balance, among other factors, “the party has not taken a decision on the matters reported.” “We see the publication as an attempt to sow seeds of confusion and discontent among party faithful using ethnicity as a cloak.”
