Court remands goat thieves

Sunyani, July 27, GNA – The Fiapre Circuit Court, in the Brong Ahafo Region, has remanded four persons into custody for allegedly stealing goats and sheep at Yawhima near Sunyani.

The four suspects: Mohammed Abokpa, driver, David Burusah, butcher, Atta Kwabena, trader and Kofi Nawura, trader, all pleaded not guilty to three counts of conspiracy to commit crime, stealing and carrying offensive weapons and will re-appear on August 11, this year.

Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) David Kwaku Amoako, told the Court that at about 0400 hours, on July 22,2004, Police personnel on duty at Yawhima check point, on the Sunyani- Chiraa road, intercepted a taxicab being driven by Mohammed.

When it was searched three sheep and two goats were found in the boot with their mouths sealed.
