DCE confirmed as NPP parliamentary candidate for Nkoranza South

Nkoranza (B/A), July 21, GNA- Members of Nkoranza South Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was at the weekend unanimously elected Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, as the party’s parliamentary candidate for December elections.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi, 49, is a teacher by profession and a citizen of Nkwabeng in the constituency was the only candidate who filed his nomination papers.

Mr. Kwabena Asante, Nkoranza District Electoral Officer pronounced the DCE’s candidature at a meeting attended by chairmen of 96 polling stations and a large number of NPP members at Nkoranza.

Mr. Stephen Ntim, first National Vice Chairman of NPP commended the party members for their loyalty and confidence in the DCE. He said the task ahead was to forge ahead in unity and mobilize the people to return the party to power.

Dr. Yaw Kudom, constituency chairman of the party, commended the government for creating two constituencies for Nkoranza and hoped this would promote development of the area.

He advised members to guard against petty squabbles, conflicts and backbiting so that they could initiate programmes to enable the party to win in the two constituencies.

Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi expressed gratitude to members for expressing their love and encouragement to him and gave the assurance that he would do his best to win the seat.

Present were Mr. Joe Dankwa, Wenchi District Chief Executive, Mr. Prince Oduro Mensah, Techiman South MP and Mr. Kwadwo Fordjour, Brong Ahafo NPP Regional Chairman.
