NDC MP assists schools

Nkoranza (B/A), July 20, GNA – Mr. Hayford Francis Amoako, MP for Nkoranza at the weekend presented 100 bags of cement and three bundles of roofing sheets to five communities in the Nkoranza North constituency in support of school projects.

The MP used his share of the common fund to purchase the items. The beneficiary communities were Konkrompe, Bonte, Boabeng, Nipahiamoa and Sikaa.

Mr. Kofi Adu-Bediako, Nkoranza North Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress who made the presentation at separate meetings with community leaders on behalf of the MP urged the people to take active part in communal labour.

He advised against the negative practice by some community leaders to divert building materials meant for community projects or fail to use them for the intended purpose.

The NDC secretary announced the MP’s plans to supply exercise books

to pupils and students in the area to enhance education. School Management Committees, PTA Executives and Unit Committees should mobilise the people to help provide proper infrastructure in schools, he said.

Mr. Adu-Bediako called on students to take their education seriously and to be obedient and disciplined to allow their teachers to impart the right knowledge to them. 20 July 04
