Bench warrant issued for radio presenter

Sekondi, July 20, GNA – A Sekondi Magistrate Court on Monday issued an arrest warrant for Emmanuel Nana Kwame Boadu, 22, a radio presenter with Radio Maxx, a private radio station in Takoradi.

Boadu was engaged in a fight with Emmanuel Aggrey at Kwesiminstin Market.

The warrant was issued after Boadu had failed to appear before the court for disturbing public peace and fighting in public.

The plea of Aggrey was not taken and the case was adjourned to July 29.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Joseph Hedidor told the court that in November 2003, Boadu engaged Emmanuel Aggrey, a 32-year-old carpenter to build a bed for him at a cost of 200,000 cedis.

He said Boadu paid 170,000 cedis and later informed Aggrey that he was no longer interested in the bed.

Chief Inspector Hedidor said Aggrey therefore agreed to sell the bed and refund the money to Boadu.

He said on January 18, this year, Boadu saw Aggrey around the Kwesiminstim Market and demanded his 170,000 cedis and this generated into a fight.
