Suhum, July 16, GNA – A middle-aged woman and her son were killed instantly when they were knocked down by a hit-and-run taxicab at Coaltar near Nsawam, on Saturday.
According to an eyewitness, Mr Simon Aglago, who is also a member of the unit committee, was not immediately identified. He was returning from a nearby funeral at Kwame Takyi with his mother to their village at Afum krom when the incident occurred.
The taxi driver, who was suspected to be drunk, was driving at top speed and suddenly knocked the two victims.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased have been conveyed for autopsy at the Nsawam Hospital mortuary.
