Farmer puts up 200 million-cedis cocoa shed

Beposo (B/A), July 15, GNA- Nana Kofi Sarfo, chief farmer of Beposo in Asunafo district of Brong Ahafo region has single-handedly constructed a cocoa shed at the cost of 200 million cedis for the area. He told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that he was prompted by the increase in cocoa production in the area as a result of the mass spraying exercise undertaken by the government, and this had made storage facility hard to come by.

This, he said prompted him to provide the shed.

Nana Kofi Sarfo called for the provision of storage facilities for other crops including maize and plantain, which are produced in abundance in the district.

He also appealed for incentives for the producers of other crops to sustain their interest.
