Bekwai-Kokofu road closed

Bekwai (Ash), July 14, GNA – The Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) has closed the Bekwai-Kokofu road to vehicular traffic as a result of flooding, following three days of heavy downpour, which has rendered it impassable.

Mr Samuel Kyei Mensah, the Amansie East District Engineer of GHA who made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Bekwai on Wednesday, asked vehicles that ply that route to use the Anhwia-Nkwanta-Bekwi road to avoid any disaster.

He said a bridge had also been built near Essumeja to enable the people in the affected areas to link up with other communities. Mr Mensah advised drivers who use that route to exercise restraint and cope with the situation for now until the floods subside.
