Landlord remanded for assaulting policemen.

Tema, July 14, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘B, has remanded in custody a 27-year old landlord who resisted arrest and assaulted two policemen. Nana Yaw pleaded not guilty to the charge of resisting arrest and will re-appear on July 20.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Edith Nutakor told the Court that on June 15, this year, one Ms Evelyn Coleman made a complaint of defrauding by false pretences against the accused.

The police invited Nana Yaw several times but he failed to show up and on July 10, two policemen were sent to arrest him.

The accused entered his room and locked the door. When the policemen forced the door open and attempted to arrest him, he attacked them but they managed to over power him.
