Teacher remanded in custody for defilement

Twifo Praso (C/R), July 11, GNA – The Twifo Praso district magistrate court on Friday, remanded into prison custody, Isaac Gaisie, a teacher of Twifo Heman Islamic primary school for defiling a 13-year class four pupil of his class.

Gaise whose plea was not taken would reappear on Wednesday July 28. Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Henry Tonor told the court, presided over by Dr Jacob Quarmy Owusu, that the suspect allegedly flirted with the victim and when she got pregnant the teacher attempted to abort the pregnancy.

The prosecutor said upon a tip-off, the mother of the victim reported the case to the Hemang police who arrested the suspect.
