Farmer drowns in river

Twifo Praso (C/R) July 11, GNA – Kobena Adjei, a 21 year old farmer from Twifo Pewudea last Wednesday got drowned in the river Pra at Praso when the canoe in which he was travelling capsized.

Sources closed to Praso said the police said Adjei was crossing the river from Pewudea to Praso, a distance of eight kilometres in a canoe when the canoe hit a rock and capsized.

Opanyin Kofi Akor, who was also in the canoe swam ashore and reported the case to police.

According to Mr Peter Ayirezang, the district police commander, efforts are being made by the police and the townsmen to recover the body of the decease.
