Mentally challenged person beheads man in Tema

A man believed to be in his mid-50s was beheaded by a man suspected to be mentally challenged at the Tema Main Harbour Railways vicinity on Friday.

Ali, the suspected murderer, whom the Ghana News Agency gathered is in his 30s, severed the head of the victim, a caretaker of a yard in the area, and went around carrying the head in a carrier bag.

He was subsequently apprehended and led police personnel from the Tema Regional Police Command to where the body was lying.

The body was later conveyed to the mortuary.

Circumstances leading to the incident are not readily known; however, squatters in the area have expressed shock at the incident.
