Ghana’s Ambassador expresses wish for Cyprus? unification soon

Nicosia, Jul 9 (CNA) ? Ghana?s new Ambassador to Cyprus, Lieutenant General Benedictus Kodzo Akafia expressed the wish that Cyprus unification should come sooner than later.

Akafia, who is based in Cairo, was speaking at a ceremony during which he presented his credentials to Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos who expressed the gratitude and appreciation of the government and the people of Cyprus ”for the consistent and unwavering support of Ghana to the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Cyprus and for our just cause for the peaceful reunification of our country and its people.”

Moreover he reiterated his commitment ”to the efforts for a functional and thus viable solution on the basis of a bi-zonal and bi-communal federation, which will meet the interests and aspirations of all Cypriots, in a reunited Cyprus.”
