I Transferred $1Billion To Ghana ? Van Kirksey

The case involving H.E. Van Kirksey and Associates, an investment firm based in Washington DC, USA, and the Bank of Ghana over $1billion the former claims it transferred to the Bank?s account during the ambit of the PNDC Government but which has managed to ?vanish? because of ?fraudulent conversion of all the documents on the loan? took another turn yesterday, July 7, when Van Kirksey, President of H.E. Van Kirksey and Associates, told an Accra Fast Track High Court, presided over by Mrs Margaret Insaidoo, that he transferred the said amount as the first installment of a loan contracted between Hon Kong Trust, a private entity, and the Government of Ghana.

Van Kirksey made this submission when he was cross-examined by J.K. Agyeman, Counsel for the Bank of Ghana, co-defendant in a case in which the plaintiff, H.E. Van Kirksey and Associates, claim that the first installment of a $2.5billion loan facility was transferred into a New York account in favour of Ghana ?but because of fraudulent conversions of all the documents on the loan,? among other things, ?the loan facility from Hong Kong Trust to the government of Ghana cannot be traced.
