Tema, July 7, GNA – The Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) has embarked on a multi-million cedi educational infrastructure programme to enhance teaching and learning in the Municipality.
The projects earmarked, include the construction of a fence wall with security post at Tema Manhean Secondary/Technical, a block of six classrooms with toilet facilities each for the I.T. Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission School and Tema Technical Institute and a classroom block and a urinal for Amrahia Basic School.
Sheikh I.C. Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister cut the sod in Tema on Tuesday to begin a 300 million cedi project at the Ahmadiyya Islamic School.
He said Government had judiciously utilized the HIPC fund for the benefit of all Ghanaians.
Sheikh Quaye said the prevailing peaceful conditions has enabled the Government to undertake numerous projects, hence the need for the citizenry to ensure continuous peace for progress.
Sheikh Quaye advised Muslim parents to invest in their children’s education, which is the key to their future development. Mr Samuel Evans Ashong Narh, Tema Municipal Chief Executive, said through HIPC benefits the TMA has rehabilitated five schools, which were in deplorable state and constructed new ones.
