Polling agents urge chiefs to avoid partisan politics

Busunya (B/A), July 7, GNA- Polling agents of the New Patriotic Party in Nkoranza North constituency in Brong Ahafo have called on chiefs not to meddle in partisan politics.

A resolution passed at a meeting at Busunya, about 67 polling agents representing the five zonal centers in the area expressed concern about the involvement of some chiefs in political issues in the constituency. The agents noted that the practice was against the 1992

constitution and appealed that any chief who wanted to join the political race should abdicate his stool in the interest of peace and harmony.

Those who signed for the centres were, Mr. Daniel Owusu of Busunya, Mr. Baffo Addo-Sarkodie of Yefri, Mr. Daniel Adjei-Agama of Fiema, Mr. Emmanuel Osei of Kranka and Nana Boye Takyi of Manso. They advised all aspirants to conduct their campaigns devoid of insults, provocative statements and defamation of opponents.
