Tema, July 6, GNA- The Tema Circuit Court ‘A’ has imposed a fine of five million cedis on a driver who drove carelessly and caused harm to four passengers on board his vehicle.

Prosecuting, Mr Adolphus Otchere told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that on April 14, 2004, at about 1400 hours complainant Gershon Odzaba was in charge of Toyota truck loaded with boards from Accra to Peace ‘B’ on the Aflao road.

He said accused was driving Benz bus with 33 passengers on board from Accra to Aflao and on reaching the Kpone police barrier near Peace ‘B’ junction, the complainant signalled that he was about to branch to a junction.

The accused who was driving behind the accused failed to observe the signal and ran into the rear side the vehicle ahead of him. The force behind the impact dragged the truck into a ditch and three passengers on board the Toyota truck sustained injuries. GNA
