John Nyankumah of GBC is dead

Accra, July 5, GNA- The death is announced in Accra of Mr. John Nyankumah, Assistant Director, Corporate Affairs of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) after a short illness on June 28, 2004. Born on November 26, 1942, at Adadientam near Kyebi, in the Eastern Region, Mr. Nyankumah joined the GBC in 1962 as a Reporter.

By dint of hard work he rose through the ranks to the present position. He worked in various capacities at the GBC as Acting Regional Director/Editor in charge of Ashanti Region, Head of Radio Newsreel and Assignment, Head of Radio News and also an Assistant Director in Charge of Radio News.

According to a family spokesman, funeral arrangements would be announced later.
