38 births on Republic Day

Accra, July 1, GNA- A total of 38 births were recorded by 1600 hours in two major hospitals and two polyclinics in the Accra Metropolis on the Republic Day.

The hospitals are the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital and the Ridge Hopital, whilst the Polyclinics are the Mamprobi and Labadi Polyclinics. Korle-Bu recorded a total of 24 births by 1445 hours. Nine babies were born at the first floor labour ward, while at the second floor 15 deliveries were delivered. Out of the nine, four were females and five females.

At the second floor, six males and nine females were delivered including a set of twins. Nine of them were through cesarean. The Ridge Hospital however recorded a total of three births consisting of a set of twin boys, and a girl. The Labadi Polyclinic recorded a total of seven births consisting of four girls and three boys whilst the Mamprobi Polyclinic recorded four births consisting of two boys and two girls.
