Families urged not to neglect the disabled

Akim Manso (Central Region) 17 Oct. ’98 Mr Kwadwo Attah-Krah, Presiding Member for the Birim South District Assembly, has called on families not to neglect their disabled members but to help in their rehabilitation. He also appealed to those involved in the Community-based Rehabilitation (CBR) programme to take keen interest in the programme which, he said, is aimed at developing a system that can reach all disabled persons in need.

Mr Attah-Krah was speaking at the third anniversary celebration of the Ghana Association of the Blind at the Akim Manso on Friday.

He, however, reminded members of the association that they have a greater role to play in their own rehabilitation and appealed to them to make good use of the little resources or assistance they get from benefactors by engaging in something profitable to earn a living. GRi .
