Acute water shortage hits three communities in Nkwanta South

Communities in the Nkwanta South District of the Volta Region such as Nyambong, Bonakye Kiri, Brewaniase are said to be facing acute water challenges.

Residents of these communities have to rely mostly on boreholes and streams.

The District Chief Executive John Thasun is therefore calling on non-Governmental Organisations and other stakeholders to come to the aid of the communities.

According to the 2010 population census, Nkwanta South has a population of about 117,000 however less than half of the populations have access to potable water.
