William Quaittoo has another opportunity to become a Minister – Yamin

Former Deputy Youth and Sports Minister under erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, Hon. Joseph Yamin has said, Hon. William Agyapong Quittoo who resigned from office as Deputy Minister of Agriculture has another opportunity to become a minister in the current government.

“He still has a chance one day to get another appointment from President Akufo-Addo as a minister”, Hon. Joseph Yamin said.

“That one will not spark a public argument because he personally resigned from office and it is good than for him to sit down for the President to sack him”, the former Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister stated.

The aspiring Ashanti Regional Chairman of National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed contrary to reports, Hon. William Agyapong Quaittoo resigned voluntarily; he said he was compelled to abdicate the position.

“My information is that he was forced to resign than we are told. ….remember that I have been in political office before”, he pointed out on Kumasi-based Abusua FM morning show.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akim-Oda and former Deputy Agriculture Minister in an interview described farmers who were demanding compensation for crops destroyed by the army worm as “difficult people and liars”

Several calls from the people including the minority in parliament asked for his resignation despite his public apology.

With pressure mounting on him, he tendered in a resignation letter to the presidency on Tuesday evening.
