Four persons have been confirmed dead after a Neoplan bus with registration number GW 2658-P run over them at Apaaso, a farming community in the Kintampo North District of the Brong Ahafo Region.
According to police in the area who confirmed the incident to mynewsgh.com, the vehicle loaded with passengers was on Monday night heading to Tamale from Kumasi in the Ashanti Region when the driver tried overtaking a slow moving vehicle.
In the process, it veered off the road and run into the four, all males in their mid 20s who were standing on the shoulders of the road killing them on the spot.
The bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the Kintampo Government Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy while the driver of the vehicle is in custody assisting the police with investigations.
The bus has since been towed to Kintampo and currently parked at the headquarters of the Divisional police Command.
