Drive fined for violating traffic rules

Elmina June 12, GNA – A district court at Elmina on Friday sentenced a 20-year-old driver from Kissi near Komenda to a fined of 0ne million cedis for various traffic offences. Emmanuel Cudjoe, who was charged with careless driving and negligently causing harm pleaded guilty, would go to prison for six months in default.

Prosecuting, Inspector Joshua Eduful told the court presided over by Mr Kwame Ohene-Essel that on November 22 last year at about 9.30 hours Cudjoe was driving a Hyundai taxicab from Komenda towards Komenda.

Insp Eduful said the suspect did not observe traffic regulations and drove into another vehicle, which was travelling from Accra to Takoradi.

The prosecutor said the other vehicle somersaulted injuring some passengers on board.
