Newspaper Apologizes To Eyadema

Togolese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr. J.P. Gbikpi-Benissan, has expressed his appreciation to the National Democrat for rendering an unqualified apology to the Togolese President, General Eyadema.

?The apology rendered by the National Democrat to His Excellency, General Eyadema, has come to confirm that one can be wrong in his or her judgment, especially on one or another,? he stated.

It noted that the Togolese Embassy lodged a complaint after the paper?s publication headlined, ?I rule Ghana, Prez Eyadema declares in Lome? in its March 8 to 10, 2004 edition, since the publication could harm the cordial relations between Ghana and Togo.
