Kintampo will fall to NDC – Constituency Secretary

Kintampo (B/A) June 3, GNA – Mr James Brett Kwamina Takyi, Kintampo Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said that the two Kintampo constituencies would fall to the Party in Election 2004.

“NDC is still strong in Kintampo with a large number of supporters and members and I am hopeful that the party will win the two parliamentary seats”, he said. He called on Party members and supporters to remain faithful and committed and not to be deceived by their political opponents to join them.

Mr Takyi told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that following the creation of the two constituencies in the Kintampo District, the Party’s incumbent MP, Mr Yaw Effah Barfi had declared his intention to contest for the Kintampo South Constituency.

Two other candidates would contest in the primaries for the Kintampo North, he said and named them as Mr Stephen Kunsu, a Teacher and former District Chief Executive and Mr John K. Mensah, a Businessman.

The NDC Secretary announced that Executive Members had been elected to manage the affairs of the Party in the two constituencies. 3 June 04
