Parliament hasn’t done any productive work since its inauguration – Sampson Ahi

Member of Parliament for Bodi in the Western Region, Hon. Sampson Ahi has stated that the 7th Parliament under the 4th Republic since its inauguration has not done any productive work.

According to him, the Nana Addo led-administration has not presented any proper policy or Bill worth debating to the floor hence the reason behind his comments.

“We start every sitting by praying followed by reading previous minutes, we make corrections, ask a few questions and then we close. This is because the government has not presented any major policy to parliament for it to keep us on our toes.”- He said

He added aside the Special Prosecutor’s Bill, Parliament has not been presented with anything substantive to debate.

Describing what he believes to be the routine of ministers in the country now, the Bodi MP said the ministers sit in their offices and read newspapers because government has not allocated monies to be used in those ministries.

According to him, government has money but using it on irrelevant programs like the celebration of United Gold Coast Convention’s (UGCC) 70th anniversary.

He said this to Bonohene Baffour Awuah on the Yensempa show which airs on Agoo TV.
