A group of four NPP members from the United States and Canada have refuted the allegation that mr J.A. Kufuor, the 1996 NPP presidential candidate misappropriated 100,000 U..S. dollars being money contributed towards the party’s 1996 general elections.
The group comprising, Dr Edusei, secretary to the NPP Planning Committee in Washington D.C., Mr Osei Adubofour, member of the committee, Dr Akuoko, key co-ordinator organising Ghanaian professionals in New Jersey area and Mr Agyei Amoama, co-ordinator for the J.A. Kufuor visit to North America and Canada said: “There is no truth in the rumours circulating that Mr J.A. Kufuor was given a large sum of money during his visit to North America which he is alleged to hve singularly used”.
