Telenovelas are affecting productivity in Ghana – Employment Minister

The Deputy Minister for Employment, Bright Wireko Brobbey, is calling for a national discussion on the springing up of telenovelas across various media landscape in the country.

Speaking to Joy FM on the sidelines of parliament’s discussion on unemployment in the country, the minister revealed that the viral nature of telenovelas continues to affect work productivity in the country.

“Telenovelas are really affecting productivity in Ghana, you go to every clinic, ministry, or place of work and you will see workers clinged on to the television watching such addictive movies,” he revealed in an interview with Joy FM.

Telenovlas in Ghana remains one of the leading form of entertainment with television stations who air such programs are said to be gaining the most of viewership on their sites.
