Storm hits community, causes damage

Adiembra (Ash), May 28, GNA- A storm that hit Adiembra near Nyinahin in the Atwima district of Ashanti twice within 11 days has caused damage to both public and private buildings and destroyed food crops.

The first one, which hit the town on May 15, ripped off the roof of the chief’s palace as well as the roofs of 30 other houses and destroyed food crops.

On Wednesday May 26, the second one affected the local Anglican primary school building and ripped off the roof of the Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) shed and roofs of 12 other houses.

Nana Appiah Dankwa, Adiembrahene, Mr Andrew Donkor and Mr Kwame Senya, unit committee chairman and secretary respectively, have made an appeal to the Atwima district assembly, the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other philanthropic organisations to come to the aid of the victims.
