Carefully weigh campaign messages – Asamoah-Boateng

Mankessim (C/R), May 28, GNA – A Deputy Minister of Information, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng has advised the electorate to carefully weigh the messages of politicians who would be canvassing their votes before deciding on whom they should give their mandate to.

Mr Boateng, who is the Mfantseman West Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urged the electorate not to be deceived with “sweet talks” of politicians who had nothing to offer them. “All the same, you should tolerate their views in the interest of peace,” he said at a convention organised by the Mankessim branch of the Church of Pentecost at Mankessim.

The Deputy Minister called on Church leaders to impress upon their members not to allow themselves to be used by politicians to stir up trouble during the elections.

Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, Mfantseman District Chief Executive, urged Christians to honour their tax obligations to the assembly to enable it generate funds for more development projects for the people. Referring to the adage, “cleanliness is next to Godliness,” the DCE advised Christians to observe environmental and personal hygiene to help prevent diseases.

Mr Quainoo-Arthur advised the congregation to patronise the District Mutual Health Insurance to enable them access quality health care.

In a sermon, Rev. A.Y. Kumi, Mankessim District Pastor of the Church, called for unity especially during the polls in December.
