Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is fully in charge as Chairman of the Economic Management Team of the country contrary to claims by political opponents that he has been rendered ineffective under the current administration, New Patriotic Party (NPP) officials have stated.
“Northerners are watching the NPP now. They said we will sideline your brother, he is attacking John Mahama all over the place, he will be vice president and they will sideline him. Has our brother been sidelined? He is in full control, Chairman of the Economic Management Team and he is going to rescue this economy”, Member of Parliament (MP) for Lawra Constituency stated.
He also observed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was skeptical about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s ability to deliver on his promises revealing that a working committee has been put in place.
“A working committee is in place, the Northern Development Authority (NDA) that will provide dams for our people to support dry season agriculture, to support the reversal support rural-urban migration, to provide jobs for our people all through the dry season will happen. There is a problem with roads in the region, we are going to deal with it head on especially the five constituencies where we won they can be sure they will be connected to the main highways in region”, he revealed.
He hinted of plans to build party people to be strong in road contracts adding that the NPP will not be ashamed about that; emphasizing that the NPP is a party of competent people who can deliver when mandated.
