22,000 hectares of cocoa farms sprayed in Dormaa District

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), May 21, GNA- A total of 22,000 hectares of cocoa farms in the Dormaa District were sprayed against the blackpod during the mass cocoa spraying exercise last year. Mr Akwasi Amarfo Bio-Frimpong, Dormaa District Cocoa Officer, disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Dormaa Ahenkro on Friday.

He said this year’s exercise would begin early July and advised farmers to clear weeds from their farms to ensure its success. He added that last year’s exercise was more successful than the previous year’s “because of the effective strategies adopted to address some pertinent problems”. He assured farmers that with their support and co-operation, this year’s would also be successful and urged them to heed to the advice of agricultural extension agents for improved yield.
