Government to deal with the Millenium bug

Accra 29 June, ’98

The government is to put in place a national task force to tackle the millennium bug problem in Ghana. The main task of the body is to rid the country by the year 2000 non-compliant computer pieces. The millennium bug is the inability of computers to automatically adjust to the year 2000 and beyond. Come the year 2000, computer pieces which are not year 2000 compliant would revert to “00” hence, undoing all data stored in figures for the whole century.
