President Akufo Addo’s renaming of YES to NEIP needless – Solomon Nkansah

Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress NDC Solomon Nkansah has described President Nana Akufo-Addo’s replacement of Youth Enterprise Support (YES) with National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan (NEIP) as unnecessary.

According to him, the President’s claim that he’s continuing with Mahama-led administration projects is not true.

Nkansah explained that the NEIP’s policy is the same as the YES under the NDC Government which provided an integrated national support for start-ups and small businesses.

“When you’re continuing something in existence, why change the name to another name under your government if same institution has same objectives. If you have no knowledge in something that has been done by a predecessor, what you can do is to do an expansion and not change the name,” Solomon Nkansah said on Agoo TV with Bonohene Baffour Awuah.

“What Nana Addo is doing is continuing with NDC legacy but because he is not courageous can’t make it public,” Nkansah added. The Akufo-Addo government renamed the Youth Enterprise Support (YES) as National Entrepreneurship and Innovations Plan (NEIP).

According to the Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, John Kumah, this will allow new businesses to emerge and give them the space to grow, to receive financing and business development services, to secure markets during the critical formative years, and to tap into a wide supply chain and network during their growth years, helping to create jobs at a widely distributed, national level.
