Sakawa killing the youth of Accra and Kasoa – Islamic Scholar expresses worry

An Islamic scholar, Sheikh Imam Ayatulaahi has expressed worry over the rate at which the youth are dying and going for money rituals which is widely known as sakawa.

There seem to be an increase in the patronage of ritual money mainly owed to the fact that most youth are unemployed and have nothing to provide them with income.

But Sheikh Imam Ayatulaahi believes that such ill-gotten wealth is not lasting and its repercussion is very distasteful.

He has advised the youth to be mindful of this act because it is very dangerous and must not be entertained.

Recently, a number of these cases are occurring in Accra and Kasoa.

He called on government to create jobs for the youth in order to discourage such acts among the youth and also ban traditionalist and other ritualists from advertising on the various TV stations.
