NPP gurus accused of allocating Kotokruaba stores to girlfriends

The aggrieved Assembly Members of Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly (CCMA) have accused the Central Regional Minister, Mr. Kwamina Duncan, Mayor of Cape Coast, Mr. Ernest Arthur as well as some executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for sharing the redeveloped Kotokruaba market stores to their girl friends and Nigerian nationals.

This came to light when the aggrieved market women and concerned assembly members of CCMA organized a press conference on Monday to register their displeasure regarding how stores of the redeveloped Kotokruaba market allocation is being handled by the Central Regional Minister and CCMA mayor.

According to them, Central Regional Minister and Mayor of CCMA as well as NPP party executives have expunged the names of majority of market women and replaced them with aliens to occupy the newly constructed market.

They therefore threatened to hit the principal streets of Cape Coast in a mammoth and unprecedented demonstration on Tuesday July 18, 2017 if the two political heads fail to give the market stores and stalls to the rightful owners.

According to them, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast North and Deputy Minister of Education, Mrs. Barbara Asher Ayisi who does not own any store at the Kotokruaba market now has a number of lockable stores at the market.

The aggrieved market women and concerned assembly members therefore called on parliament to as matter of urgency step into the brouhaha of allocations of redeveloped Kotokruaba market which has been the headache of the market women in the area.
