We need to equip our police officers well – Security expert

Security analyst, Kwesi Anning is predicting more bouts of violence in the country if government fails to equip security officials with the needed tools and gadgets to keep them armed against trouble makers.

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has recently revealed that the main reason for the ill-fate on most security officers is due to the fact that they do not have the needed safety equipment to ward off perpetrators of violence in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, the security analyst stated that the concern raised by the IGP should never be taken lightly if Ghana’s security is expected to be tightened.

The warning by the Kwesi Anning follows the killing of a security officer at Lapaz in Accra over the week by two armed robbers. So far, reports of the arrest of these thugs have been made as the IGP continues to assure the public of intense security across various public places in the country.
