Bunkprugu DCE nominee rejected thrice

Assembly members in the Bunkprugu/Yunyoo district of the Northern Region have for the third time rejected District Chief Executive nominee John Kweku Alhassan.

Out of a total of 48 votes cast, Mr Alhassan couldn’t secure the two-thirds majority to win the assembly’s endorsement as he obtained only 18 votes with 30 against his nomination.

After last week’s disturbances that marred the elections, the Northern regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed, supervised the latest polls on Friday, July 14.

The latest results mean President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will have to nominate another individual to replace Mr Alhassan
