Bugging saga: Probe Inusah Fuseini – Muntaka

The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) should haul the former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Alhaji Inusah Fuseini for questioning if necessary, the Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak has urged.

His admonishing follows the admission by the Tamale Central legislator that he sanctioned the installation of a spying device in the office he once occupied as Lands and Natural Resources Minister.

The National Security Monday July 10, 2017 uncovered the secretly planted audio-visual recorder in a huge Coat of Arms plaque hanging in the Minister’s office.

The espionage set up included a camera, a storage unit and another device suspected to be a transmitter.

It is believed to be able to pick a whisper 35-feet away and Mr. Fuseini bragged in an interview with Morning Starr host Francis Abban Tuesday July 11, 2017 “that device was my personal property.”

Commenting on the development, Mr. Muntaka said he was “shocked” when Mr. Fuseini admitted ordering the planting of the device in the office he bequeathed to Nii Osa Mills, which was later occupied by John Peter Amewu upon the change of government.

He said Mr. Fuseini’s failure to take the gadget with him when he was vacating the office was incomprehensible, saying “he shouldn’t have forgotten.”

Answering a direct question on whether the BNI should invite the former Minister for questioning, he replied that “if the BNI thinks it is necessary” they should.
