How the Asante Kotoko FC accident happened

The Asante Kotoko team bus was involved in a fatal accident on Wednesday night resulting in the death of the Deputy Equipment officer, Thomas Kofi Obeng Asare and the driver’s mate of the Kia Rhino truck it run into.

According to officials of the party, the driver after overtaking a salon car tried negotiating back to his lane running into the stationary truck in the process.

Head Coach, Steve Polack, Ashitey Ollenu, Evans Quao, Michael Akuffu, Awudu Nafiu, Osei Agyemang, Godwin Ablodey, Baba Mahama, Ahmed Adams and Isaac Amoako suffered various degrees of injuries and are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Supporters of the team in Kumasi are distraught over the unfortunate incident and thronged the Hospital to sympathize with the team.

Isaac Gyebi who is the team’s photographer and was on board the bus, gave a vivid account of what actually happened on Accra-based Okay FM.
