Police reveal latest technique adopted by armed robbers

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has revealed the latest strategy used by armed robbers in the country to outsmart their victims and rob them of their property.

In a release issued on July 11, 2017 and signed by Chief Inspector David Fianko-Okyere on behalf of the Director of Public Affairs, he disclosed that the armed robbers now lay ambush around the homes of their victims and attack them at their entrances robbing them of the vehicles and personal valuables usually after the close of business.

He encouraged the public to adopt personal security measures especially those living in isolated areas to be more vigilant and look for people lurking around their neighbourhood.

“People living in bushy areas should make effort to clear the bushes to give a clear view of where they stay. People with vehicles are advised to install tracking systems in their cars. Community members should adopt good neighbourliness and look for each other to ensure the safety of community and members of the public should up their personal security to ensure safety”, he suggested.
