Invest your assets in Ghana – Bawumia to Ghanaian diasporans

Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia has called on persons within the Ghanaian diaspora to invest their assets, and skills in micro, small and medium enterprises.

According to him these investments will create jobs and generate more income especially in the local communities in the country.

In a speech read on behalf of the Vice President, Mustapha Hamid indicated that government is working hard to ensure that the 2030 agenda for sustainable development is achieved.

“We urge all Ghanaians in the diaspora to support the socio-economic development of the country by investing in the micro, medium and small enterprises which can be a highly effective way of creating jobs and generating incomes in the local communities” he stated.

“Two years ago the United Nations issued a call to action to eradicate poverty and hunger and reduce social and economic inequality in all forms under the 2030 agenda for sustainable development, it is, therefore, the policy of the current administration to work hard to ensure that the 2030 agenda is achieved”, he added.

He was speaking at the Ghana Diaspora Homecoming Summit held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Friday, July 7, 2017.

The summit is aimed at mobilising and harnessing the resources and skills of the diaspora community to accelerate development in the country.
