Serwaa Ampem Nurses’ Training College death toll now 2

Another student from the Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem Nurses’ Training College at Tafo Nhyiaeso in the Ashanti Region has passed away, bringing the number of deaths in the school to two.

Her name was only given as Vida.

One student had earlier died in the accident involving students of the school when they were returning from an excursion to Lake Bosomtwe at Abono in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti Region on Monday July 3.

The accident happened at about 4:30pm with 40 students on board the bus.

The injured were taken to hospital for medical care where a second death has been recorded.

Some students of the school who spoke to Adehye FM’s Owoahene Addai Mununkum on condition of anonymity, for fear of being victimised by the proprietor of the school, called on the police to conduct full investigation into the matter.

The concerned students asked that the proprietor be made to explain why the school administration compelled students to make the trip to Lake Bosomtwe.

Parents are currently picking their wards out of the school.

An eyewitness who spoke on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM on Tuesday July 4 said the driver of the bus lost control of the steering resulting in the bus falling into a ditch.
