Okyere elected Legon SRC President

Accra, May 9, GNA – The Electoral Commission of the Students Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Ghana, Legon has declared Mr Prince Okyere as the elected President of the student body for the year 2004/2005 academic year.

A statement signed by Mr Nathaniel Addie Adumoah, the Electoral Commissioner on Saturday said Mr Okyere polled 2,724 votes as against his opponent, Mr Bernard Ohemeng Baah, who had 1,759 votes.

Ms Josephine Adwoa Ashia polled 3,269 votes to beat her counterpart Ms Victoria Hama who polled 2,231 votes for the position of Secretary. This year’s University of Ghana SRC elections witnessed massive rigging and fraud, which led to an annulment of the first round results.
