Blind beggar before court for defilement

Accra, May 6, GNA – A 40-year old blind beggar was on Thursday put before an Accra Circuit Court for defiling a 13 year-old pupil. Stephen Agoagye pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted five million cedis bail to reappear on May 17.

Police Inspector Emmanauel T. Boison told the Court presided over by Mr Kwadjo Owusu that Aboagye, who lived in the same house with the victim at Madina Zongo, invited her into his room on April 26, gagged her with his palm, stripped her naked and defiled her.

Inspector Boison said the accused after the act threatened the victim that she would die if she told any one about the affair. The victim, the Police said, kept the matter to herself until her auntie detected certain abnormalities about her and when she questioned her she narrated her ordeal

The matter was reported to the Police, who requested for a medical examination and when the report was submitted the Aboagye was arrested.
