Redeem Judges lost image – Effah Darteh to Chief Justice

Renowned Lawyer and former MP, Captain Retired Nkrabea Effah Dartey has admonished Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo to redeem the image of the Judiciary.

According to him, the Anas Aremeyaw Anas video caused a lot of harm to the Judicial System leading to the loss of confidence in their system.

Speaking on his expectation from the CJ who assumed post some weeks ago on Top FM’s Morning Show Tuesday morning said “She (Sophia Akuffo) should seriously make the Anas Video her priority and go through the entire documentary”.

He advised that “the guilty ones should be sacked whilst the mistaken ones should be retained”.

The former legislature argued that, a lot of cases are pending in courts because of this (Anas Video).

Anas Aremeyaw Anas premiered his undercover film, titled ‘Ghana In The Eyes Of God’ that exposed deep-rooted corruption within the country’s judiciary system in September 2015.

The film exposed corruption of some judges and and judicial staff which shocked the whole nation.

The investigation led to the suspension of some judges.

On the same platform, he said Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo should employ the services of more judges.

He said, “We need more judges, especially at the Circuit Courts”.
